in this post i want to make a formal announcement that i'm making myself available to do paid web design starting this month
over the past year, i've created a bunch of websites and become pretty familiar with blogger, tumblr, and wordpress. i specialize in minimalist design, usually with a heavy use of helvetica and other clean/bold san-serif fonts (although i'm open to different platforms and styles)

for a sample of my tumblr designs, i've made my tumblelog LIVE MY LIEF (pic below), as well as modifying another theme for INTERNET POETRY and adding endless scrolling
for a sample of my wordpress designs, i've made my click-through 2011 (e-)book (pic below), as well as another site using a grid-like layout that i never launched

if you like, i can help you design across all your internet presences, carrying design ideas across from a main blog onto a secondary tumblelog or an e-book and your twitter profile and even your profile pictures, etc. i can work on your existing designs or build new sites for you
i can also help with photo editing, usually making pictures brighter and clearer. i'm even open to designing printed posters, stickers, book covers, business cards, book layout, or business cards. i can also do copy-editing if your project has a lot of text. (on my own sites, i don't always use "proper" grammar and formatting, but i have three years experience in a writing center, so i do know the rules.)
i'm also knowledgeable about a lot of web mechanics like social media buttons, feeding your blog updates to twitter and facebook, setting up domain names, setting up subdomains (http://subdomain.yourwebsite.com), and url redirects

my girlfriend was showing me someone in her social circle who designs blogspot blogs for $200 each, with some cheaper options for smaller jobs. since i'm still beginning, i'd gladly take on a few people at $50/blog. and if you have a smaller job idea, like just a header image or logo, i could do it for $20 (negotiable/depending); if you have a really complex/big job, i might ask for more than $50

i also want to say: i'm personally appreciative of anyone who takes me up on this, because i'm still trying to figure out my financial situation for the summer and whether/how i can afford to go on a poetry tour with poncho peligroso (!). i'll probably end up getting a part-time job, but i'd love if i could pull together some money doing something i love to help people in my internet community who i love
